About Us

Africa Responds is a collaborative platform through which African organizations and allies pool their resources, networks, and collective voices to respond to the Ebola outbreak. Recognizing the socio-economic and political roots and implications of this outbreak, we value and promote contextualized and nuanced dialogue. The resources raised through Africa Responds will support organizations that are providing critical services on the ground. Our partner organizations have highlighted three critical areas of need, described below. Funds from the campaign will support these needs. Africans in the Diaspora, with support from International Development Exchange, will manage and disburse the funds as well as produce follow-up updates and reports.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Equip more front-line responders with protective equipment, sanitation kits, and training materials.

Community mobilization & outreach

Educate communities on how to prevent the spread of Ebola.

Caretaker & Family Support

Provide alternative care and support to families affected by Ebola.
